Hippotherapy Türkiye Mediterranean Regional Networking Meeting was held in Perge Hall hosted by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality on Friday, 19 January 2024.
Hippotherapy Türkiye Executive Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Şükrü TORUN, project Legal Representative Asst. Prof. Dr. Cafer YILDIRIM, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Hippotherapy Research and Application Centre Director Lect. Ali Ekber ÜN and Physiotherapist Cumhur ELMACI took part in the meeting as speakers, the application approach of equine assisted services based on scientific foundations, horse welfare, appropriate horse selection and training, and experiences regarding the effects of applications on individuals were shared with the participants.
Information on how different institutions (health professionals, equine professionals and institutions, rehabilitation centres, etc.), which are stakeholders of hippotherapy in the network / cooperation network modelling created within the scope of Hippotherapy Türkiye project, can work in cooperation within a multidisciplinary structure was also shared with the participants.
Before the meeting, a visit was made to Isparta Equestrian Sports Club within the scope of networking activities.
